About High Five Ramen

An intimate subterranean ramen lair with concrete walls, a long cedar bar, and industrial light fixtures. The signature High Five Ramen features a traditionally rich and creamy tonkotsu-style broth combined with miso, sesame, face-numbing pepper, nori, and dried Japanese chilies.

High Five Ramen is one of the ramen listed in Chicago, Illinois. The business is registered at 112 N Green St, Chicago, IL 60607; use this page to check its hours, phone number and Google rating before you make the trip. Portion sizes and pricing swing widely across this group, from a $10 lunch bowl to a multi-course tasting menu at an upscale sushi counter, so checking recent reviews and photos is more useful than the price range alone. In Chicago, dinner reservations for popular izakaya, hot pot and Korean BBQ spots fill up on Friday and Saturday nights, so booking ahead or arriving at opening is worth it. Many restaurants across Illinois run daily lunch specials on weekdays that are not listed on the dinner menu, so it is worth asking. Halal, vegetarian and gluten-free options vary a lot by kitchen; call ahead if you have a dietary restriction rather than assuming the menu will note it.

Hours are published for 7 days a week. Typical hours are 4–10:30 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. First came here 4 years ago, and the quality is still absolutely superb. I ordered the Tonkotsu ramenβ€”the broth was rich, creamy, and packed with flavor. Love that you can ask them to spice it up if you want a kick. Easily one of the best ramen spots in the city!

Hi Five Ramen was such a great experience! My partner and I both ordered the tonkotsu ramen, and we absolutely loved it. I went with the 1/4 spice level, which had a nice kick, but I ended up adding more chili oil, so I think I could definitely handle the 1/2 spice next time. The broth really stood out to me. It was rich and savory with this deep, earthy flavor that was different from other tonkotsu ramen I've had. Everything came together really well, and we both finished very happy with our choices. We had drinks from the bar upstairs and were able to bring them down with us, which was a nice touch. My partner also ordered a Hibiki 12 whisky with lunch and loved it. The atmosphere might have been one of my favorite parts. Hi Five Ramen is tucked downstairs with no windows, limited seating, and a dark, intimate feel that somehow perfectly matches the ramen experience. We arrived right when they opened and were the first ones there, which I would definitely recommend; the space is small, so coming early seems like your best bet! We also ordered the marshmallow Rice Krispy treat for dessert, and it was really good; a fun way to finish the meal. Afterward, they brought us warm to

Entering through an alley and located in the basement of Green Street Smoked Meats with limited seating, it has the appearance of a cool bar in one of the the trendiest neighborhoods in the city. While cocktails are a good idea, its ramen is as good as advertised - flavorful broth with depth, chewy noodles, and incredibly chashu. Combined with a good service that churn people in and out to accommodate what can be a long line without feeling rushed, this is a must visit for ramen enthusiasts. Highly recommended.

We had a fantastic lunch here. The pork belly was tasty. So tender, it practically melts in your mouth. The slushy drink was delicious too but seems kind of small. Overall we had great service and we were seated right away. Thank you.

Really great ramen spot with a super cool concept and location. The ramen was very flavorful and their beer selection was surprisingly good too. One thing to know: the place only seats around 15 people, so definitely make a reservation or plan to go later in the evening unless you want a long wait. Small space, but honestly part of the charm. Would definitely come back.
